EMDR
EMDR is a structured therapy that encourages the patient to focus briefly on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (typically eye movements), which is associated with a reduction in the vividness and emotion associated with the trauma memories. Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy is an extensively researched, effective psychotherapy method proven to help people recover from trauma and PTSD symptoms.
Family Court/Legal Services
I offer services for individuals, couples, co-parenting adults, and families. I have a unique specialty in supporting clients adjusting to separation or divorce, custody, and the challenges often faced within the family court system.
Child Custody Evaluations/Guardian ad Litem (GAL): I may be appointed by the Court or by coparents as a category E Guardian ad litem (GAL). The role of the Category E GAL evaluator is to gather and report factual information, use clinical knowledge to interpret that data and formulate clinical opinions to assist the court in making custody, visitation, or other decisions related to the welfare of a child.
Parenting Coordinator: I encourage co-parents to work together to develop a parenting plan that is in the best interest of their child(ren) instead of deferring to the courts, who often order a “one size fits all” parenting plan. I facilitate this process through psychoeducation on child development, communication skills, and emotion regulation.

Individual counseling: Navigating the family court system can take a huge toll on a person physically, emotionally, and financially. It may take years to concede to a divorce or custody agreement. People are often left feeling depleted, discouraged and defeated and many develop anxiety, depression and/or PTSD as a result. I will support you through the process, help you develop coping skills and facilitate connection to resources available in the community.
Parenting Plan Consultant/Co-parent Consultant: I frequently serve as an independent neutral consultant hired by both parties to provide recommendations on parenting plans or parenting disputes. Before starting work, I will work collaboratively with the parties and/or their attorneys to define the scope of the consulting work. Often, the scope includes written recommendations for the parties to consider.I typically require a joint meeting with both attorneys, individual meetings with the parties, possible conversations with the children, and possible collateral calls. After conducting this initial review of the circumstances, I will then meet jointly with the attorneys and/or parties to discuss my findings, identify areas of concern or areas ripe for further investigation, and potential recommendations for the parties to consider. The parties then may provide additional feedback or additional requests to further consider. This process is collaborative and is appropriate for cases where the parties want to reach an amicable resolution outside of court, but can use help and direction from a neutral provider.
My goal: “ To help families move forward so everyone can be in the best situation possible.”
